Perceptions of Depth

Perception of Depth, published in the Architectural Association’s AArchitecture 37# calls for a revisition of the tools and skill sets which constitute architectural education; away from prototypical tools of small scale design towards the technological and sensory devices driving rapid anthropogenic change, at a planetary scale.

Perception of Depth showcases drawings and research previously published in the Kerb Journal of Landscape Architecture, tracing the influence of mining ordnance and geological surveyance in the creation of Australia’s contemporary urban and emergent cityscapes. Perception of Depth is a precursor to Measuring The Indian Ocean Dipole, through defining the planet's climatological-environmental systems as both emergent and historic spaces of architectural and political operation.
